Glyph Technologies StudioRAID 32TB 2-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 1 RAID Array | 2 x 16TB
The StudioRAID 32TB 2-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Array (2 x 16TB) from Glyph Technologies is engineered to facilitate the editing and playback of multiple audio and HD video streams. This production-grade external RAID array connects to your host system via a micro-USB 3.0 port, two FireWire 800 ports, or one eSATA port, achieving data transfer speeds of up to 360 MB/s. It features two 3.5″ drive bays, providing a total storage capacity of 32TB, configured with two 16TB 7200 rpm hard drives. To optimize its performance in a production setting, the StudioRAID is pre-configured as RAID 0, which enhances speed by distributing data across both drives, while also supporting RAID 1 for data redundancy. For users who do not need RAID functionality, JBOD and SPAN configurations are available. The array is powered by an internal international auto-switching power supply that operates within a range of 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, features an intelligent quiet fan for cooling, includes disk health monitoring, and is housed in a durable, scratch-resistant black powder-coated aluminum chassis with a brushed stainless steel front panel. Although the StudioRAID is pre-formatted for HFS+ Journaled for Mac systems, it can be easily reformatted for use with Windows, Linux, Unix, and BSD. The package includes a USB-B 3.2 Gen 1 cable, a FireWire 800 cable, and an IEC power cable, and it is backed by hardware, data recovery, and advance replacement warranties.
General Features
- The StudioRAID is a reliable hardware RAID array with USB 3.0, FireWire 800, and eSATA connectivity, supporting RAID 0, 1, JBOD, and SPAN modes. A temperature-controlled intelligent fan complements its auto-sensing power supply for a combination of speed and reliability
- RAID 0 (striping) increases the performance of the drive system by spreading the data across two drives. RAID 0 is designed for editing video, working with huge graphics files, sound libraries, and streaming instruments that play hundreds of samples simultaneously. RAID 0 is the default shipping drive mode.
- RAID 1 offers data redundancy and real-time backup by writing the same data to the two hard drives at the same time. Should a drive failure happen, data is still available on the remaining drive
- The Glyph StudioRAID comes pre-formatted as HFS+ with Journaling and is Time Machine compatible out of the box. A simple reformat is all it takes for the StudioRAID to work with Windows systems
- The StudioRAID uses a temperature-controlled fan that helps keep it quiet while still offering proper cooling. The case is designed with front-panel ventilation holes to draw cool air in, while exhausting warm air out the back
- External power adapters are easily misplaced, accidentally unplugged, and take up valuable outlet space. The StudioRAID uses an industry-standard power cord and a pro-quality internal power supply for efficient and reliable power. The StudioRAID will also sense when you connect over USB or FireWire, and automatically power on
- The StudioRAID includes disk monitoring features designed to keep your data safe. Should your drive begin to exhibit behavior indicating an imminent drive failure, the multi-function LED will alert you via a red light. Additionally, to safeguard against accidentally powering off your StudioRAID, the intelligent power switch must be held for 3 seconds to power off the drive
- The GPT Rackmount Kit transforms your StudioRAID into a rackmount hard drive. The rackmount kit accessory is capable of mounting one or two Studio-series drives
